ASPIRE
Academic Support Program to Inspire, Reinforce, and Empower
In 2023-24, ELSS is providing English support programs to immigrant youth in Norwalk, Stamford, Bridgeport, Fairfield, and Greenwich.
ASPIRE participants are mainly students who have little to no background in English, and we aim to strengthen their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through content-based instruction.
Instructors establish a supportive and nurturing learning environment. They meet with students in small-group settings throughout
the school year.
Our staff are experienced and dedicated professionals who hold certification, a degree, or both in teaching English (ESL).
ASPIRE has been effective in improving participants' language acquisition, confidence level, classroom participation, attendance rate, and overall class grades.
